World ports: global port construction and reconstruction projects

The global port construction market is recovering from the recession, many projects are under development and implementation.

As in many other industries, the global recession had a negative impact on the seaport construction market, the construction of new ports and terminals and the reconstruction of old ones were delayed or even canceled due to a sudden lack of funds. Laing O ’Rourke’s excavation work at the planned London Gateway port began in May 2010 after a two-year hiatus due to the DP World’s Dubai-based maritime company finding the necessary investment.

However, as a necessary stimulating factor in world commerce, the construction of new marine hubs has proven its viability, as well as growth opportunities. Massive construction projects are beginning to be implemented, and some are nearing completion worldwide.
